Music and Lyrics movie (my thoughts)

Hi there! I saw the new movie Music and Lyrics that stars Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant. It was a cute movie. Very relaxing for me. Of course I loved it because it was about songwriting. I sure wish I could have written a song for it. You have to be in the right circles to even get a shot. That would be a dream. Anyhow... the movie was real nice. It was funny too. I am always into romance and comedy when it comes to movies. Well, I guess in real life too.

I was sorry to hear about Britney Spears's meltdown. I think we could all see it coming. She just made some wrong turns along the way. She needed a support team to come in and take her by the hand. Thank goodness she did check into rehab today. She is young and has so much life ahead of her including two wonderful little boys that need her attention. Hopefully she will realize that they are the biggest blessings in her life. She just needs to refocus, step back and get the help she needs. I am rooting for her.

Have a goodnight everyone!

NEW CHRISTMAS CD FOR 2007!! Read this post for info!

Hello everyone! Happy New Year!!
I can’t even imagine the last time I sent a newsletter out to all of you. All I know is that it has been way too long and way over do. I am so sorry. A lot has happened since we last talked. I got married to a wonderful man named Steve last May of 2006. He has 4 children. Their ages range from 10 to 21. Life has been busy! My two girls are grown now. Alisha is working at a Daycare and absolutely loves children. Kirsty is off to Iowa State University in the fall. She is finishing up her senior year in high school. Wow these last few years have flown by!! I also forgot to mention I graduated from Massage therapy school and am now in my third year of massage therapy practice.
New Project in the works!!! Christmas CD for 2007!!
It has been 6 years since I put out a new CD of music. I have been working on some songs over the past 3 years of Christian and pop music but that project is kind of on hold, or shall I say moving slowly. I have thought and thought about the idea for a Christmas CD for many years now. I have always wanted to put out a Christmas CD of standards and originals. So this is the year I really want to make that happen. I am just starting the process and hope to have it done by the fall. I am so excited about this.
Here is my idea….
Being an independent unsigned artist I always front the money myself for all my music recordings. (I’ve had donations also) Unlike being a signed artist with a record label where the company fronts you the money and you really don’t have to come up with anything. My idea is to try and sell a lot of copies of my first 3 CD’s to fund this new one. ( I have shelves full of them) Many of you have copies of them, some don’t have any at all. Perhaps you know of a friend or family member who would like a copy. I am going to offer a deal to all of you and maybe this will help me with the new Christmas CD.
You may buy any of my three Cd’s, LIGHT THAT SHINES, SEASONS OF LOVE , and WIDOW’S MITE for 10.00 each. 20% of each CD you buy will be split between two missionary families serving with Youth With a Mission in Haiti and Jamaica. They are very dear friends of mine. I served on the mission field with them many years ago. I would like to help them out and keep them doing what there doing, spreading the gospel which is very important to me. If you help me, you will be helping them too. THANK YOU!!!!!

THE DEAL DOESN’T END THERE!!!! IF YOU BUY 3 OR MORE COPIES OF MY CURRENT CD’S YOU WILL RECEIVE A COMPLIMENTARY COPY OF THE NEW CHRISTMAS CD WHEN IT IS FINISHED. ( Donations are always welcome too, and you would get a free copy as well for doing that!) I am not set up for you to get a tax deduction at this point in time. Sorry ‘bout that!

To give a little plug about the first 3 CD’s. I have been doing my music for almost 15 years now and managed to pump out 3 CD’s. You may log onto: TammyEdwards.com and you will be able to hear some of the songs to see if you like them. The website is under some construction. We are getting ready to add some new features. That won’t be too much longer. My biography will be put back up there too. I have been blessed to have won over 15 National songwriting and vocal awards off of the 3 CD’s over the years. I am honored and humbled by that. It is my prayer that you would enjoy my music and be blessed by it. I want it to be a positive influence in this world when we have so much music that isn’t uplifting at all.

Thank you so much for reading through my letter. If you feel led to be a part of this great. If not that is ok too. I just wanted to be in contact with all of you because it has been way too long!

God Bless!!!!

The Grammy Awards

How fun watching the Grammy Awards tonight. I always love watching all the artists perform. I enjoyed the trio performance by John Mayer and the other two new artists that I didn't recognize. I loved the set they all did. How refreshing to hear nice soft music where you can understand the words. I am really into the mellow stuff. Always have been. Shakira of course was entertaining with "My hips don't lie". Then I really enjoyed Carrie Underwood and Rascal Flatts doing the tribute music. I can't remember who they were doing tribute music of. I just didn't catch the name but I know Rascal Flatts was singing some of the Eagles music and that was real good!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrr it's cold!

Driving home from our friends house in West Des Moines this evening the temperature in our car registered -4 degree's for the outside temperature. It has been unbelievably cold the last few days. We had a blast with our friends tonight. We had meatball sandwiches and played Dance Revolution. If you haven't tried that yet you really should. It is great to help you with rhythm and timing. I hear that it can help you lose weight. Who can argue with that? I looked ridiculous stomping side to side trying to land on the arrows to the music at just the right time. I am competitive and I just couldn't seem to beat most everyone I got paired up with. I just may have to buy one for myself and practice up. Fun Fun!

VH1 Contest winner is announced tomorrow

There were around 381 video's entered into the VH1 songwriting contest. The winner will be informed tomorrow on Feb.3rd. Everyone seems to be really excited about the contest and who might win. Most of the contestants have been supportive of each other. Some have chosen not to be involved in the voting or leaving positive comments for others. I guess that is to be expected. I chose to leave as many nice comments for others that I could possibly do. It was fun to be supportive of other artist. I am definately not expecting to win. There are plenty of video's that topped mine. Some shot them professionally. We will see what happens. I will leave a blog as soon as I know who the winner is.

I got another massage today. I hadn't had one since the last time I got beat up. haha. This time I went to a massage school and let a new gal work on me. Oddly enough I was her very first massage. She did a pretty good job overall. I couldn't really relax because the room was so cold. I have a headache now too... that happens when all the toxic stuff gets broken up and released into your body. I feel like I could sleep for a week. Thank goodness it is friday! Have a super weekend. :)
