Happy 18th Birthday Kirsty!!!

Today is my daughter Kirsty's 18th Birthday. Happy Birthday Kirsty!!! She is such a sweet girl. Soon she will be off to college. Hard to believe.

I had the opportunity to watch the "FLIGHT 93" movie tonight. Wow was that sad and very moving. It just hit me hard. Those people were hero's. It must have been horrific to have been on that flight and have it high jacked. I hate flying on a good day. To have that happen must have been horrifing. I just have to believe that God ushered the good people into heaven. I also believe that the arab men are burning in hell. They certainly do not believe in the same God that I do. We lost so many people on 9/11. As many that have been lost in Iraq over a period of 4 years we lost in one day on 9/11. God bless all those men and women and their families.

Garage Sales! Found a special thing.

Anyone like garage sales? I usually don't frequent them but had the change to catch a couple the past two days. Yesterday I found a really neat thing. I found a German bible that was published in 1883. I bought it for a mere 25 cents. I can't believe it. I don't think the family realized it's value. It had to have come from some family member. I do know that it's original owner was a female from Nebraska. She had written some messages in the back of the bible. One in particular about if the bible was found to please return it to her. She must have been born in the early to mid 1800's. She must be long gone. The bible would be 124 years old right now. Most bibles that are considered antiques would be 1600 to 1700 publications. This one doesn't make it yet. But it really could be someday. I will do some more research. I have a few things I have collected that I think will be of some value. There was a newspaper clipping of a couple that had died in some shipwreck so I thought I would research that too. History is a real special thing. I don't think any one of us wants to be forgotten. Just food for thought for today.

Happy Fathers Day!!!

Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there. Looks like a nice sunny day here in Iowa. We have had a rough few days with stagnant air and alot of humid heat just hanging over us. There have been health warnings out. It is that bad. Of course I am miserable with my life long affliction of allergies. Ugh!

So all of you have a great safe day!! Spend it with the ones you love.

Vertigo

Anybody have a cure for vertigo?? I have inner ear fluid that is due to my allergies and just can't seem to get it cleared up. It makes me pretty dizzy. It has been a month now and I have taken prescription Allergra and Sudafed. It has been so aggrevating. :(

We are trying to think up some fun summer activites. I am not much of a camper so I am trying to think of things we can do besides camp in a tent. haha! I am a Marriot camper. If you get my drift. I just don't like to get that dirty. Maybe it is my old girlscout days I am thinking of. That was tough. Our scout leader made us build our own latrene outside. She was one touch cookie.

Correct me if I am wrong

I have been watching the Tony awards this evening and have noticed that a very large percentage of the men accepting awards seem to be gay. They have said thank you's to their partners in the audience. I am sorry if I am stepping on toes here by bringing up the gay subject. I do not hate gay's, but I am disappointed and not happy about homosexuality. It is not natural. I do not believe people are born gay. If they were then the bible would have referred to Adam and Steve instead of Adam and Eve. I hope I don't get hate mail for this. Just don't cram it down our throats. Gay people make a conscious choice to pratice homosexuality. They most likely have had something lacking or missing in their lives that has lead them in this direction. Many woman who have had numerous bad relationships with men I believe turn gay. The choice is theirs. Men also have a missing link somewhere. I don't know if there is a hormonal imbalance or a fear of women. You are right, I don't know what it is like to live in their heads, but I do know God. God does not condone this. He loves the sinner but hates the sin. If you know your scripture you know what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah.

Everywhere I go I see gay couples now. There is no more hiding this. It is fully out of the closet and I have to see this stuff and it is not natural. Lesbians seem to be running all the latest coffee shops. So many gay singers and actors. I just can't escape. I feel like my mind is tainted and I will never be the same again. :(

Just Plain Showcase at the Ritual Cafe tonight!

It was a really fun evening tonight at the Ritual Cafe in Des Moines. We had the Just Plain Showcase. Brian Whitney came to stay with us for a couple of days. He is the Founder of the organzation. The music organization has over 40,000 members world wide. We had about 23 performers. They were all pretty good. I had a great time. A friend from high school is the owner. I had no idea that she ran the place. I think we had an art class together back in high school. I sang "Dreams do come true" for my song this evening. I am definately going to be frequenting this coffee house. What a nice place!

Family reunion today

Today is our annual Edwards family reunion. We gather the first weekend in June every year. Most of the family lives within a 40 mile radious. I do have a Aunt and Uncle from South San Francisco that fly in every year. My Uncle Kanu is a Cardiologist. Actually I think he flies around the world teaching cardiology. My aunt was a nurse. I don't think she does that anymore. They have a pretty busy traveling schedule. I love hearing their stories. My uncle is from India so they make some trips back there. Well I must get my side dish ready and I will be back to post maybe something interesting later.
